From staff reports
The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is still searching for a Quincy man believed to have shot a man multiple times in the stomach Friday. Arnoldo Cazares Mendoza, 20, allegedly fled a blueberry field west of Quincy after shooting Luis Ochoa Murillo, 23 several times in the abdomen. Both worked at the field, but Murillo said he doesn’t know the shooter or why he attacked him, said Grant County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kyle Foreman. Murillo is still in Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Deputies have searched extensively for Mendoza, and are relying on community tips to find him, Foreman said. Mendoza is a Hispanic 20-year-old male, about 5-foot-7-inches tall and 130 pounds. Anyone with information about Mendoza’s whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (509) 762-1160 or call 911. Anonymous tips can be sent to crimetips@co.grant.wa.us.
