Ex-BPA chief Wright picked to head Chelan PUD

Associated Press

WENATCHEE — Recently retired Bonneville Power Administration chief Steve Wright is being hired to run the Chelan County Public Utility District in Wenatchee.

The Wenatchee World reports commissioners offered the position of general manager to Wright on Wednesday and he confirmed by phone he’d take the job.

The 55-year-old Wright will replace John Janney, who is resigning on Sept. 15.

Wright will have a five-year contract with an annual salary of $295,000. He earned about $180,000 a year with the Portland-based federal power marketing agency.
