West’s LAX scuffle likely not a felony

West
From Wire Reports

Rapper Kanye West probably won’t face any felony charges over his altercation with a photographer at Los Angeles International Airport and may even be able to resolve a misdemeanor battery charge by compensating the photographer, sources said.

After reviewing video of the July 19 altercation, detectives agreed with the rapper’s lawyer that it doesn’t amount to an attempted robbery, according to two sources familiar with the investigation.

West was captured on video wrestling the photographer to the ground. His lawyer has insisted to detectives that West was simply trying to stop the photographer from taking a picture.

A video shows West emerging from the airport and heading toward a waiting car. He then stops and appears to get into an argument with one of numerous photographers on scene. The video, obtained by TMZ, shows West grabbing the photographer. He appears to have the photographer in a virtual headlock as he forces him to the ground. While a camera is between the pair, his lawyer told authorities the video shows he never grabbed it.

Schuller ‘recovering quickly’ from fall

The Rev. Robert H. Schuller, who propelled his church into an international religious force, has been hospitalized after falling, according to the family. Schuller fell in the middle of the night over the weekend while at home in Orange, Calif.

He remains in an Orange County hospital where “he’s doing well, recovering quickly, and of course, our prayers are with him,” said Angie Schuller, his granddaughter. Schuller, 86, is undergoing tests and doctors may release him later this week.

The Crystal Cathedral Ministries stemmed from the Reformed Church in America, founded in 1955 by Schuller, whose teachings attracted a global audience through his televised “Hour of Power” shows. At its peak, the broadcasts attracted more than 20 million viewers worldwide.

More than three decades later, Schuller resigned from the church’s board in 2012 after the organization filed for bankruptcy.
