Biel a fresh voice

I am pleased that The Spokesman-Review is endorsing more than one candidate in each primary race, and has named LaVerne Biel as one of those candidates worthy of our vote. Biel is a very accomplished woman, and has volunteered many hours in our community. She and her husband, Kent, have owned a local communications business for 20 years, and in 2010-11 Biel served as East Spokane Business Association chair. As a mother of five adult children, supporting families and our youth has always been a priority.

Biel now hopes to serve Spokane on the City Council. When our nation’s leaders wrote the U.S. Constitution, it was their intention that people would only be in office a limited number of years. Then these “citizen legislators” would return to their private lives to live under the laws they had created. It was not their intention that politicians would become entrenched in office forever.

Biel will be a fresh voice on the City Council, not a professional politician. She will listen to all and then evaluate each issue on what is best for our community. Find more information at www.LaverneforSpokane.com. Vote LaVerne Biel for Spokane City Council by Aug. 6.
