In brief: Copter crash kills 5 in Pennsylvania
NOXEN, Pa. – State police said five people are dead after a helicopter crash in Pennsylvania.
Trooper Adam Reed said troopers and officials from the Federal Aviation Administration are still on the scene in a heavily wooded area of Wyoming County, about 80 miles north of Philadelphia.
The FAA says the wreckage of a Robinson 66 helicopter was found shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday near Noxen. Reed said inclement weather hampered search efforts.
Youth pastor, wife killed in bus crash
INDIANAPOLIS – An Indianapolis congregation on Sunday mourned the deaths of their youth pastor, his pregnant wife and another member who were killed when a church bus overturned with just a mile to go in a return trip from a Michigan summer camp.
Saturday’s accident devastated members of Colonial Hills Baptist Church, who had been anticipating a joyful homecoming with the 37 people aboard the bus. Youth pastor Chad Phelps; his pregnant, piano-teacher wife, Courtney Phelps; and chaperone Tonya Weindorf were killed, Deacon Jeff Leffew said.
Dozens were injured in the crash, which happened near Interstate 465. Six teenagers remained hospitalized Sunday, one in critical condition.
