Mt. Spokane rolls past Enumclaw

WALLA WALLA – Jordan Fitzpatrick had three hits and drove in three runs and Mt. Spokane exploded for 11 runs in the fourth inning en route to an 18-11 victory over Enumclaw in the American Legion AA state tournament at Borleske Field on Sunday.

Mt. Spokane, the lone area team still in the winner’s bracket, takes on Mason of Aberdeen tonight at 7 p.m. at Walla Walla Community College.

Bellingham 5, Gonzaga Prep 0: David Stealy fired a complete-game two-hitter, striking out seven along the way, and Bellingham knocked Gonzaga Prep into the loser’s bracket with a victory at Murr Field.

G-Prep will square off against University today at Borleske Field in a loser-out game at 4 p.m.

Colville 6, Burlington 2: At Borleske Field, Colville scored four runs in the top of the first inning and cruised to a victory in a loser-out game.

Colton Vining scattered seven hits in a complete-game effort. Lukyn Holling had a two-run triple and Tevyn Holling had two hits and an RBI for Colville.

University 7, North Thurston 3: At Murr Field, University used a three-run third and a four-run fifth to stay alive in a loser-out game.

Brandon Melnick went the distance for U-Hi. He allowed three runs – two earned – on six hits.
