Off-road incident a joke
First, I am a resident of Coeur d’Alene. On May 18, I met some friends from Canada for a day of motorcycle riding around the Colville area. To make a long story short, my bike broke down, and I took my truck up a public dirt road to retrieve it.
When coming down, I was met by two policemen in a pickup. I was informed that my motorcycle was legal (had Idaho off-road sticker) but my truck was not. Apparently, the state of Washington requires an off-highway permit if you are not on pavement. Keep in mind that this is on state Department of Natural Resources land, not national forest, but it is public land and it is a public road. I was in no way “off road.”
This is liberalism gone wild. The state of Washington may think it is making money by requiring and selling these permits, but they better think again because I will be keeping my recreational dollars in the state of Idaho from now on.
There were two officers in the truck, too. How’s that for maximizing the use of our tax dollars? Wow! Truly unbelievable.
