Washington State University emeritus professor Nicholas Lovrich has been honored with the WSU President’s Award for Distinguished Lifetime Service. The award recognizes those who have contributed significantly to WSU excellence during their career.

The offices of Century West Engineering Inc. have hired Nichole Moore as a staff engineer in the Spokane office.

Finance

U.S. Bank in Spokane has promoted Brendan Wiechert to vice president and team lead for its business banking team; and hired Tara Chandler and Cody Owen as business banking relationship managers. Wiechert has 20 years of banking experience.

Jason Johnson attended the 2013 Circle of Success Conference. Johnson is a private wealth adviser with Ameriprise Financial.

Health care

The American Association of Diabetes Educators has named Debbie Belknap the Washington State Diabetes Educator of the Year. Belknap is an RN with INHS Community Wellness.

Marketing

The Spokane Regional Marketing and Communications Association awarded EWU Marketing and Communications, Shriners Hospitals for Children, and RESCUE! Pest Control Products with the Brightest Spark Award. The awards recognize the exceptional work of local marketing, communication and public relations professionals.

Miscellaneous

The Sisters of Providence have chosen Dr. Darin Neven to receive the 2013 Mother Joseph Award for his compassion and dedication in the care for the most vulnerable members of the Spokane community. Neven is an emergency room physician and medical director for the Consistent Care Program at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Nonprofit

Britt Towery has joined the Northwest Council for Computer Education as marketing and communications director. Previously, Towery was corporate community affairs coordinator for Coeur d’Alene Mines.

The Panhandle Area Council has named Greg Cook as executive director. The organization promotes and assists in the economic development of the counties in North Idaho. Cook served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years. After retiring as a Colonel, he worked as an independent business and management consultant.

Solace for Children has established a North Idaho/Spokane branch and named the following individuals to the board of directors: Tony Ledford, Robert Miller, Chrisdee Imthurn, Linda Hagen Miller, Jocelyn Stott and Jill Ledford. The organization helps foster international partnerships to provide medical care, education and leadership development for children of war-torn countries.
