Obituary: Butler, Darrel W.

BUTLER, Darrel W. (Age 79) Passed away Tuesday afternoon May 7th, 2013 at Hospice House of Spokane.

Darrel was born June 27th, 1933 at Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Wash. to Norman and Esther Butler.

He attended school in the Spokane Valley.

Mr. Butler worked at numerous occupations, most recent was long haul Truck driving for Jensen-Byrd Dist., with over 4 million miles driven during the 17 year employment.

He married Mardell Butler in 1985 and enjoyed farm life raising beef and taking the horses to Montana to drive cattle to the high summer pasture for friends, also fishing in numerous lakes and rivers in Washington and Montana.

Darrel was a third generation of Spokane.

His grandfather, Bert Butler was a pioneer businessman who operated a downtown grocery store during the Spokane fire of 1889.

He is survived by his wife Mardell, and six children.

Greg, Anthony, Deanna Harrison of Spokane, Wash., Debbie Sutherland of Sutherlin, Oregon, Robert Patton of Sacramento, Calif., and Ronald Patton of Millwood, Wash.

Ten grandchildren and nine great-grand- children.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 8th 2013 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the Clubhouse at Cascade Manufactured Home Community at 2311 W. 16th, Spokane, Wash. Cake, coffee and punch will be served, please come celebrate the life he shared with us.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made in Darrel’s name to Hospice of Spokane.
