Ferris alumni plan 50th year reunion

Ferris High School is celebrating its 50th anniversary in July. Several events are planned July 19-21.

On July 19, Hugo’s on the Hill, 3023 E. 28th Ave., will feature live music, casino games, and a poker tournament for charity; at Morty’s Tap and Grille, 5517 S. Regal St., there will be live music from the ’60s and ’70s; and finally at Famous Ed’s, 2911 E. 57th Ave., there will be food and cocktails. The events will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $25 when purchased before June 15.

On July 20, there will be a golf tournament, tours of Ferris High School, a concert and dinner program. A porker-style golf tournament is scheduled at Hangman Valley Golf Course for $60. Tickets include lunch, a raffle and greens fees.

The Ferris tours will be offered every 15 minutes.

A concert for charity will start at 7 p.m. at the Spokane Convention Center. The all-ages concert will feature DJs and is part of the Saxon Nation Summer Concert Series. Tickets are $20 and available at the door. Some proceeds will go to scholarships for Ferris students.

The 50th anniversary decades celebration program will be from 5 p.m. to midnight at the Spokane Convention Center. This event will feature a seated dinner, a program about the history of Ferris High School and dancing. Tickets are $75 if purchased before June 15.

On July 21, a family fun day is planned in Riverfront Park with day passes available at a discount, booths and live bands. Food will be available from Longhorn Barbecue.

Finally, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. there will be a music and wine event at Arbor Crest Winery. Tickets are $15 before June 15, and include light food but not wine. Attendees must be at least 21 to attend.
