Obituary: Sundberg, Aladene Edith (Vanorder)

Age 94

SUNDBERG, Aladene Edith (VanOrder) Was born on March 21, 1919 in Baker, OR to Arthur (Roy) and Nellie VanOrder, and she went to be with her Lord on May 31, 2013.

Aladene lived most of her life in Spokane, WA.

She went to grade school at the old Sunset school out on Highway 2 and graduated from North Central High School in January, 1935.

After graduation, she worked for the National Youth Administration clipping articles from newspapers of interest to the government.

Aladene married Carl (Ed) on July 26, 1937 in Newport, WA.

She served six and a half years as a substitute rural mail carrier.

Aladene was President of the Auxiliary to the Letter Carriers National Association and a long time member of the Pasadena Park Nazarene Church.

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.

She loved her family, music, and many years of traveling with Ed and family throughout the United States visiting every state except for Hawaii.

She is survived by three children, Leroy E. (Rebecca) Sundberg, Shareen E. Knettle, and Craig C. Sundberg; grandchildren, Gail (Rickey) Edwards, Alan E. (Susanne) Dragoo, Chris C. (Becky) Sundberg, Annette L. (Troy) Holderfield, Dawn L. (Thomas) Moulen, and Derrick J.

(Melanie) Dragoo; six great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandsons.

Aladene was preceded in death by her husband Carl (Ed), her parents, a brother and a sister.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 7 from 9:00 - 8:00PM at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY 4305 N DIVISION SPOKANE, WA.

Graveside service will begin at 9:30AM on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Spokane Memorial Gardens followed by a 3:30PM memorial service at the Pasadena Park Nazarene Church 8822 E. Upriver Dr., Spokane Valley, WA.
