Body found near People’s Park on Spokane River

A body was found caught in some brush in the Spokane River on Saturday morning near People’s Park. Police received the call around 11 a.m., said Lt. Keith Cummings. The body appears to have been in the water for at least a month, he said. Detectives are scanning missing persons reports in hopes of determining the body’s identity. The age and sex of the person has not been determined. The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating.
