Obituary: Murphy, Ric

Age 68

MURPHY, Ric (Age 68) Ric passed away May 29, 2013 in Spokane WA.

Living in Mead, WA he was a Spokane area resident for 34 years.

He was a Navy Veteran, and was a submariner in the 1970s in California.

His most recent occupation was as a Metal Specialist for Keytronic, from which he retired in 1995.

Rick attended high school in Detroit, Michigan and graduated in 1963 at age 18.

He was a member of the Eagles Club (dancing), Karaoke, and pool.

He was a hard-core Red Wing Hockey fan and Nascar buff.

He loved the nightlife, his friends, watching karaoke, all sports: football, basketball and hockey (he was a hockey player when he was young).

Ric’s friends were his family.

Ric loved the home he built himself.

He worked on his land and home tirelessly.

His yard had a park-like setting to be proud of.

He is survived by his many Spokane Valley, Mead and Foothills long term friends; his sister Caty Meyer of Florida; and his brother John Leaf Murphy, also of Florida.

All will be welcome at a Celebration of his Life on Sunday, June 9th, at 2:00 P.M. at the Last Lap Pub, 13524 E. Sprague Ave, Spokane Valley, WA.

Inurnment will be private for close friends and family.

Donations may be made to the Foothills Community Church in his name, or plant a tree in his honor.
