Obituary: Peterson, Grace Myrtle

PETERSON, Grace Myrtle Born December 21, 1932 in Yankee Hill, California passed away Tuesday May 28, 2013 at the age of 80 while surrounded by her loved ones in person and in spirit.

She resided in Spokane, WA at the time of her death.

Grace retired from Sears in 2000 after working 40 years in personnel and retail sales.

She served as a volunteer on the Sears Credit Union Supervisory Committee for the last two years.

Grace also volunteered at Anna Ogden Hall for over 40 years and volunteered at the Union Gospel Mission Thrift Store and she served on the Women’s Auxiliary Board at the Union Gospel Mission during these years.

She brought joy and laughter to those around her; she was admired and respected especially for her sharing of her love for Jesus Christ and her commitment to her family.

She leaves behind many dear special friends from retirement and her volunteering.

Grace enjoyed fishing in Alaska with her husband; she loved camping and boating with family and friends.

She enjoyed playing Bunko with the girls.

Grace adored her family; she was always planning family events whether it’s a birthday party, a holiday dinner or just time together.

She had a gift of making you feel special.

We loved her deeply and will miss that smiling face or just sitting around talking with her.

Grace is survived by her two children, Randy Peterson and Kathy Peterson both of Spokane, WA.

Seven grandchildren Jill Peterson, Renee Gray, Sara Matava, Hans Peterson, Brook Ritter, Kim Peterson, and Lisa Peterson along with 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Her spouse of 59 years James L. Peterson passed away on May 22, 2013.

Visitation for Grace will be 9:00 - 5:00PM on Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 at RIPLINGER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY 4305 N. DIVISION SPOKANE, WA.

A “Celebration of Life memorial service will be held for both, at Riplinger Funeral Home on Monday, June 10, 2013 beginning at 2:00PM followed by interment at the Wayside Cemetery.
