Autopsy due today on body found in river

From staff and wire reports

SPOKANE — An autopsy Monday may identify the body that was found Saturday in the Spokane River tangled up in a tree near the Sandifur Bridge.

Officials said the body appeared to have been in the water for possibly more than a month.

Detectives also are searching through missing-person reports in hopes of determining the person’s identity.
