Best bet on the Tube

When the United States first released its roster for a stretch of three World Cup qualifying matches in less than two weeks, Brad Evans’ name was absent. He had performed well during training camp in January but U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann left Evans off his initial training camp roster, only adding him to the mix five days later. That decision is now looking like a stroke of genius. Evans scored the game-winner to beat Jamaica on Friday and earn a critical three points in the Americans’ attempt to qualify for next year’s World Cup. Now Evans comes back to Seattle – where he plays in MLS – for Tuesday’s match against Panama ( 7 p.m., ESPN). – AP
