Obituary: Bach, Edythe Marie “Ede”

BACH, Edythe Marie “Ede” (Age 92) Edythe Passed peacefully in her sleep at home on the evening of Sunday, June 1st, 2013.

Ede was born and raised in Spokane.

She graduated from North Central High School and worked at the State Theater, where she met Don, the love of her life.

The minute Don saw Ede he knew she was the one who he would grow old with.

In 1942 Ede took the bus from Spokane to San Diego; where Don was stationed at the time, and got married before he was shipped out to London for 4 years.

Don and Ede were married for 62 wonderful years.

Ede worked as a dental hygienist for 30 years and when the Dentist retired, she worked at Naglers shoes and Spokane Truck & Grip.

Ede loved working, especially with the public and she loved to entertain; she also liked to travel with her sister and brother-in-law.

She was a caregiver for many of her later years-for her mother-in-law, her mother, and her husband.

Ede is survived by her cat and close companion for seven years, Shorty; her nephews: Jeff (JoAnn) Chance, Steve (Jeannie) Chance, her nieces: Debbie Chance Sutter, Lori and Dale Pippenger, and Diane Chance Peters; Ede’s aunt Betty Damanio and her cousins, Rita and Duncan Thompson, and Barbara and Dan Ewers; and numerous great- nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Donald Bach; her sister, Genevieve and brother, John Perry; and her parents.

A Funeral Service will be held on June 15th at 2 pm at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home followed by a Graveside Service at Fairmount Memorial Park.
