Obituary: Bagdon, Kenneth R. July 18, 1933 - June 6, 2013

BAGDON, Kenneth R. July 18, 1933 - June 6, 2013 Longtime resident Ken Bagdon passed away at his home with his wife and sons at his side on June 6th.

Born in Wenatchee, Washington to Otto and Grace Bagdon, they moved to Spokane in 1943.

Ken attended North Central High School before serving in the USAF in Alaska during the Korean Conflict.

Ken was with the Inland Automobile Assoc.

(AAA) for 33 years retiring as the Insurance Agency Manager in 1998.

Always an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, scuba diving, white water canoeing, and prospecting among many other hobbies.

Ken and his wife enjoyed many years of travel including trips to Canada, Mexico, Hawaii, and Great Britain.

In later years he greatly looked forward to “Wednesday Lunches” at home with his sons.

Ken fought a valiant battle with multiple cancers for over 20 years - he was our “damn, tough, German Scot!”

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gene, sister Donna, and Nephew Brad.

He is survived by his wife Sydnie, of 53 years; son Craig and his daughters Laura and Courtney; son Steven and his wife Tracey, daughter Katie, and son Zackary.

He is also survived by sisters-in-law Joyce Bagdon and Wendy Basham, brother-in-law Howard LaRose, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service and inurnment will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, June 14, 2013 at the Sunset Chapel, Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley.

If desired, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cancer Care Northwest Foundation, 5105 E. 3rd.

Letters of condolence may be sent to Community Cremation & Funeral, 4407 N. Division.
