Obituary: Jones, William S. “Bill”

Age 84

JONES, William S. “Bill” (Age 84) On June 9, 2013, surrounded by his family after a four year struggle with a brain tumor, Bill passed peacefully, exactly 12 years to the date of his beloved wife, Sherry.

Bill was born in Spokane on August 19, 1928 to Milo and Wilma Jones.

He attended Finch Elementary, Havermale Jr. High, and graduated from North Central in 1947.

Immediately upon graduating he went to work for Exchange Lumber where he stayed until retiring in 1994.

Bill served in the Korean War with the WANG and was stationed in England.

In 1955 he married Sherry Kinnier and they had three daughters.

After retiring, Bill helped start COPS Northwest at Shadle Center where he continued to volunteer until 2011 when his health declined.

Bill is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Karla and Brian Womack, Carol and Bob Somers, Karen and Pat Hill, and six grandchildren, Jennifer, Lauren, Alyssa, Sean, Connor and Alaina, and soon to be first great-grandson, Mason Robert.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Fairmount Memorial Park at 2:30 P.M.
