Education

John Roll has been named senior vice chancellor for academic affairs and research at Washington State University Spokane. Roll is currently the associate vice provost for graduate education and scholarship for WSU Health Sciences and associate dean for faculty affairs at the WSU College of Nursing.

Finance

Tom Nihoul, a private wealth adviser with Ameriprise Financial, qualified for and attended the 2013 Circle of Success Conference. Mountain West Bank has added Rick Andreas to the Mortgage Lending Team at the bank’s Spokane Financial Center. Andreas has 19 years of experience.

Kirk Bierwagen and Ron Benzel have joined the Spokane office of McAdams Wright Ragen Inc. as senior vice presidents. Previously, Bierwagen and Benzel were both with Partners Investment Network Inc.

Fidelity Associates Insurance Brokers has announced the addition of Denise Collins as a personal insurance account manager and Shelly Harrington as a commercial insurance account manager. Collins has been in the insurance industry since 2010 and joined Fidelity in 2012. Harrington has 25 years of experience in the insurance industry and also joined Fidelity in 2012.

Health care

Shriners Hospital for Children Spokane has presented Juanita Layne with the 2013 DAISY Award. Recipients are nominated by their peers for this award based on professionalism, skillfulness and compassion. It is one of the highest honors in the nursing industry and recognizes overall nursing excellence.

Carolyn Signer, Peggy Kiebach and Paul Steenman have been hired by Incyte Diagnostics. Signer was hired as an accessioner and previously worked as a rehabilitation aide with Providence Holy Family Hospital. Kiebach was hired as a biller and worked previously as a medical biller with Arizona Family Care. Steenman was hired as a histology lab assistant and is a recent Gonzaga University graduate.

Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories (PAML) has appointed Shawn Whitcomb as the senior vice president and chief information officer (CIO). Whitcomb has 20 years of management experience. Previously, he served as CIO at HNTB Engineering.

Nonprofit
