Learn about Second Amendment

As the cornerstone of the Bill of Rights, the Second Amendment has not been “largely ignored for most of our history,” as James Ramsey asserted June 8.

In its radio ads, the Rutherford Institute calls the Second Amendment a “famous” amendment.

Decades before the United States Supreme Court declared that the Second Amendment was about individual rights, most constitutional scholars had already reached the same conclusion. Indeed, the individual right interpretation of the Second Amendment became known as the “standard model” interpretation of that amendment.

It’s tragic that so many anti-gun activists seem to have little grasp of, or appreciation for, one of our greatest freedoms.
