Obituary: Anderson, Aage
Until five days prior to his death, Aage had lived three years at Park Place Assisted Living in Spokane Valley.
Aage was born February 14, 1936 to Aage B. and Inga Tenneson Anderson who resided in Cascade, Idaho.
Aage was very proud of his Norwegian heritage.
Aage graduated from Oregon State University in 1963 with a Master of Science degree in Entomology.
His career was an industrial hygienist with the State of Washington.
Aage B. Anderson married Lucy G. Fox on March 6, 1964 in Eugene, Oregon.
Together they raised Lucy’s two daughters and were active in their growing-up years.
Aage is survived by stepdaughter Alice (Tim) Radlciffe of Longmont, Co, their three children and one granddaughter; daughter Susan Shearer of Spokane, WA; and his sister Rebecca (James) Pharris of Olympia, WA and their three children.
Aage was also close to his cousins, particularly Karen (Dennis) Jessup of Wilbur, WA and Sandra Tenneson of Burlington, WA.
Aage volunteered with several organizations.
His favorite hobbies were photography and woodworking.
His fascination with insects was life-long, and he and Lucy shared this interest with grade school children in assemblies they presented showing the cycle of moths and butterflies.
A memorial service for Aage will be held Saturday, June 22, at 11:00 AM at Audubon Park United Methodist Church, 3908 North Driscoll Boulevard, Spokane, WA 99205, with reception to follow.
We cannot praise enough the care Aage received from the assisted living staff at Park Place: Ruth, Dave, Amy, Cynthia and all other staff who were always smiling, loving, and caring.
