Armchair cops abound

It’s wonderful to know that so many people in Spokane have criminal justice degrees, have been to the police academy and have firsthand knowledge and practice of law enforcement procedures. Clearly, you should be out on patrol, protecting us and putting your skills to practical use.

It’s much like the military: They volunteer their lives for the rest of us, and what thanks do they receive in return? Persecution and ridicule. Second-guessing. There are far too many individuals out there who make me happy the Spokane Police Department and Spokane County Sheriff’s Office are there to protect us.

And for those who dislike our everyday heroes, just remember that if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.
