Dave Buescher, of ALSC Architects, has received his Washington state architecture license. Buescher has been with ALSC since 2010.

Communications

Desautel Hege Communications has promoted Lisa Cargill from account director to senior account director. Cargill has been with the firm for 10 years. She currently serves as the president of the Public Relations Society of America Spokane chapter.

Education

Karen Weathermon received the 2013 WSU Libraries’ Excellence Award. The award recognizes non-library staff and faculty who have significantly contributed to the libraries. Weathermon is the director of Washington State University’s Learning Communities/First-Year Focus.

Erica Hallock has joined Spokane Public Schools as director of community relations. Previously, Hallock served as president and CEO of United Ways of Washington. She is currently vice chair of the State Nursing Commission.

The Eastern Washington Alumni Association has announced the recipients of the 2013 EWU Alumni Awards: Cher Desautel, co-founder and CEO of Desautel Hege Communications, Lifetime Achievement; Jason Clerget, co-founder of Dollar Per Month and Propaganda Creative, Inspirational Young Alumnus; Lori Wyborney, principal of Rogers High School, Alumnus of Service; Patrick McManus, professor emeritus and humorist, Distinguished Faculty; Maj. Gen. Kenneth Privratsky, Exceptional Military Service; Melanie Monek, senior professional human resources for Washington Trust Bank, Distinguished Mentor; and the College Success Foundation, Organization of Excellence.

Fidelity Associates Insurance Brokers has announced the addition of Blake Jones, administrative assistant/personal insurance support; and Joi Rhodes, personal insurance adviser. Jones recently graduated from Washington State University and Rhodes has two years of experience in the insurance industry.

Bruce Van Cott has been named a financial representative for Country Financial. His office is located at 1420 N. Mullan Road, Suite 210, in Spokane Valley.

Numerica Credit Union has hired Rick Seidel as manager of the Airway Heights branch and promoted Mark Goodwin to manager of the float teller staff. Seidel was previously general manager for Best Buy. Goodwin has five years of experience in the banking industry and most recently served as teller supervisor for Numerica’s Hayden branch.

Health care

Pathology Associates Medical Laboratories (PAML) has appointed Deena Murphy as senior billing director. Previously, Murphy was revenue operations director at Quest Diagnostics.

Lisa Parker, CDP, and Nikki Easterling, M.Ed., CDP, have opened Breakthrough Recovery Group, a new counseling and treatment service center specializing in substance abuse treatment. The center is located in the Valley Redwood Plaza, 11711 E. Sprague Ave., Suite D4.

Miscellaneous

The board of the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center has appointed Shaina Nomee as acting executive director. Nomee currently serves as co-chair of the Coeur d’Alene Arts and Culture Alliance and is a board member of the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture’s Foundation.

The Kootenai Environmental Alliance has awarded Joe Hamilton, owner of Pilgrim’s Market in Coeur d’Alene, with the Community Business Award. The award recognizes the grocer’s impact on healthy and green living in the North Idaho community.

The New Hope Resource Center has announced the 2013 executive board: Harla Jean Biever, president; Mark Vogelsang, vice president; Alanna Crouch, secretary; Steven Nokes, treasurer; and Glenn Lockwood, immediate past president.
