Area students earn place on dean’s lists

Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis., has named James Anders and Jenna Speltz, both of Spokane; Shannon Miner of Spokane Valley; and Cameron Dolsby of Veradale to the 2013 spring dean’s list:

• Area residents have been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2013 semester at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. Students are listed by their hometowns.

Colbert: Karen Jones. Colfax: Brent Conrad, Kelli Largent and Roman Lyon. Colville: Alexander Hanson. Davenport: Benjamin Miller. Deer Park: Justin Morris and Reid White. Inchelium: Taylor Messing. Kennewick: Kaelyn Huwe. Othello: Bradley Fox. Spokane: Austin Damon and Aaron Rusch. Spokane Valley: Janson Card.

• Army Pvt. Joseph Murray has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Murray is the son of Laurence Murray, of Spokane, and is a 2010 graduate of Mt. Spokane High School.

• Cadet Stephen Horning has graduated from the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y. Horning is the son of Joel and Sandra Horning, of Spokane. He graduated from Ferris High School in 2009.

• Sam Caruso, a member of Woodridge PTSO, Troop 171, has earned his Eagle Scout Award. This is the highest award given by the Boy Scouts of America. He is the son of Tony and Christy Caruso, of Spokane.
