Obituary: Hodneland, Reidar Alfred

Age 82

HODNELAND, Reidar Alfred Was born February 14th, 1931 in Bergen, Norway to Albert and Bergliot (Bouge) Hodneland.

Reidar was called home peacefully in his sleep June 23rd, 2013; now holding the loving hand of his wife of 56 years - Arley-Ann.

He immigrated to the US at age 16 with his older brother Jan and his parents.

Reidar worked at various jobs and multiple careers.

He delivered concrete for Central Premix before spending, 45 years at Kaiser.

As a General Foreman for Kaiser, he and his family spent seven years in Tema, Ghana, West Africa.

However, he is most proud of his work and accomplishments with the Washington State Patrol as a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer earning him awards presented to him by the governor as CVEO of the year in 1993 and 1999 for the state of Washington.

He was a lifetime member of Sons of Norway and Eagles.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Aud Elin, brother Jan and his wife Arley-Ann.

He is survived by his sons Ron, Albert (Sheri), Arlan (Janice), daughter Neilene (Dan), 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, June 29th at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 5810 S. Medowlane Road.
