Obituary: Mccallum, Gerald “Jerry/Mac”

Age 83

McCALLUM, Gerald “Jerry/Mac” April 9, 1930 - June 24, 2013 Remembering our dear beloved Jerry - He lived an amazing life, we will all miss him.

Our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, cousin, friend has passed away on June 24, 2013 in his home with his loving wife and family by his side.

Jerry was born in Little Fork, Minnesota to Ida and Addison McCallum.

He attended Rogers High School and took college courses with the Navy.

He served in the Navy aboard the Philippian Sea CVA-47 during the Korean War.

He later worked with his brother in their own nickel mining company and went on to work for Safeway as a butcher.

Since 1963, he and his wife have been the owners of Mac’s Metals, a structural-steel and aluminum fabrication shop located in Spokane, WA.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife and soulmate Darlene and 4 children: son Gerald “Mack” and wife Katie, son Les, daughter Debbie and husband Jake, daughter Dawna, sister Patti and husband Dick, 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Addison and Ida, his son Dale, his brothers Donald and Richard, and his sisters Shirley and Virginia.

A Viewing will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N Government Way, on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Sunset Chapel, Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley, on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 1:00 PM.
