In brief: Ignite! Community Theater hosts tours, barbecue

SPOKANE VALLEY – Ignite! Community Theatre will host an open house and barbecue Sunday at 5 p.m.

The theater is inside Spokane Valley Partners at 10814 E. Broadway Ave.

People are invited to take a tour of the new theater and get information about upcoming shows and volunteer opportunities.

Discounted season tickets will be available for $100 a pair for six shows in the 2013-14 season. A board meeting will follow the barbecue.

Coca-Cola will award grant to park with most votes

SPOKANE COUNTY – The Coca-Cola Co. is asking parkgoers across the country to vote for their favorite park by checking in online when they do an activity there.

Parks compete for a $100,000 recreational grant that will be awarded later this year. Park users can check in via the applications MapMyFitness and Foursquare or by going online at coke.com/parks and typing in a ZIP code to look up the park.
