Obituary: Boolen, Lonnie Ray (Age 66)

BOOLEN, Lonnie Ray (Age 66) Lonnie Ray Boolen, age 66, lived in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.

Lonnie was born February 25, 1947 in Hopkinsville Kentucky to Frances and John Boolen.

He died June 23, 2013 at Kootenai Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Lonnie was an Army then Navy brat, and lived all over the country.

Lonnie joined the United States Air Force after graduating from Mar Vista High School in Chula Vista, CA.

After the Air Force, Lonnie worked for the US Postal Service in Imperial Beach, CA, Coeur d’Alene ID, and the Hayden, ID Post Office for the last 28 years of his career.

Lonnie loved his old cars, and he was easily recognizable in his 1959 Willys Jeep Pick-up or one of his old Cadillacs.

Lonnie is survived by his mother, Frances Boolen of Spokane; his wife of 36 years Toni Spatola also know as Rosalie True, their daughter Sarina R. Spatola and grandson Hayden Ellison of Coeur d’Alene; his daughter Trisha (Boolen) Gochenour and her mother Joan Gates, Son-in-Law Bruce Gochenour, grandsons Will and Nicholas of Richmond, Virginia, brother John Boolen of Dallas, Texas, sister Linda Sundance of Austin, Texas.

Also his Sister-in-law Kathleen True and niece Kali True of Coeur d’ Alene, Brother-in-law Richard True of Tacoma, Washington, Sister-in Law Janet Strickler and her Husband Terry Strickler of Henderson, Nevada, Brother-in-law Ken Garrison and nephew Luke Garrison, and great nephews Justin and Jackson Garrison of Coeur d’Alene.

He is also survived by his other children of his heart: Greg McDonald of Post Falls, ID, Carra Humphreys of Liberty Lake WA., and Darrick Hayman of Granite Falls, WA.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday June 29, 2013 at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel with a reception following at the St. Thomas Parish Center.
