Two unbeaten teams in Midget Division

Parity, thy name is the Spokane Valley Baseball youth league Midget Division.

Of the league’s 11 teams, six broke even during the first week of play.

The division’s two unbeatens are Evergreen Cosmetic Dentistry from Ponderosa Elementary and Dana Graphics from Otis Orchards.

During Ponderosa’s two victories, Jack Albert and Chris Walsh each pitched three shutout innings and Walsh went 4-for-4 against Regal Satellite.

Four of 12 teams have winning records after three games of their 11-game Pee Wee division seasons. Seven are 1-2.

Tom’s Barber Shop of Chester, Gibson’s Nursery from Opportunity and Lydig Construction from Chester are all 3-0.

Tom’s built 27-run lead after four innings against Liberty Lake, Spencer Jackson pitching shutout ball in three innings while Curtis Drews and Parker Thomas provided the offense.

Fourth place American On-Site from Trentwood won two of three games. Conner Bly went 3-for-4 and Oakley Morehouse struck out six against Leo’s Photography. Jaden Lanphere, who doubled twice, and Elija Baker with three hits each, led the way against Blasingame Insurance.
