AquaSox hold off Indians

EVERETT – Spokane’s rally in the ninth couldn’t make up for eight innings of futility as Everett beat the Indians 5-3 in a Northwest League game Friday night.

The Indians (6-9) scored three runs in the ninth to close the gap, but managed just one hit in the first eight innings.

AquaSox (13-2) starter Thyago Vieira pitched 5 2/3 innings before giving way to Richard White, who got the final out in the sixth. Nick Valenza pitched the final three innings to get the win.

The Indians’ Gabriel Roa hit a two-run double in the ninth.

Spokane starter David Ledbetter pitched five innings and gave up four hits and no runs.
