Solid pitching leads Hu Hot to wins

Eleven teams were unbeaten early in the season, four each in the 12U and 10U leagues, as Spokane Valley Girls Softball got under way.

18U: Sierra Findley resumed her solid pitching and Danielle Greger and Alana Brake each doubled as Hu Hot won twice. … Emillie Farrell had a walk-off game winning hit for Farrell Spray Services.

14U: M.I.S.T., Inc and Testcomm, LLC are atop the division with 2-0 records. Among last week’s highlights, Kara Gerard doubled and tripled for Valley Bowl and Natasha Nelson tripled, driving in two runs for B-Line Appraisals.

12U: Hu Hot has started 4-0 in league, one win coming on Jordan Williams’ walk-off home run, 16-15 over John L. Scott. … Pitching led the way for a couple of other unbeatens. Cheyenne Parker struck out all nine batters in the three innings she pitched for Chuck’s Girls. … For Valley Hospital, Erin Barnes had six strikeouts in four innings of one win and Kaitlyn Harvey fanned five in three innings of the other. … Megan Taylor for Ameristar tripled and drove in three runs.

10U: Three teams have 3-0 records and a fourth is 2-0. UNICEP’s Chloe Williams hit three home runs and Savannah Pratt hit a grand slam in one of their three wins. … Testcomm, LLC got loads of help during its three wins. In one Julie Andrews and Brianna Nimmeck hit bases loaded triples. Jaiden Smith was 6-for-6 combined in two games and Gracie Sharpe doubled and tripled.
