Obituary: Huddleston, Lorraine

HUDDLESTON, Lorraine (Age 84) Lorraine Huddleston, beloved wife, mother, “Nana” and devout Catholic, passed away peacefully on June 19, 2013 in Olympia, WA.

Born May 14, 1929 in Butte, MT, Lorraine graduated from Butte High School.

In 1950, she married Dr. Robert T. Huddleston and they moved to Omaha, NE before settling in Spokane, WA to establish his medical practice and to raise their family.

Lorraine will be rejoining her husband of 57 years and their daughter Mary Kathryn, who preceded her in death (April, 2008).

She is survived by her children Bob (Sue) Huddleston of Allyn, WA, Michael (Jana) Huddleston of Woodinville, WA, Lynne (Ben) Ridlon, Marty Huddleston and Patty Kells of Spokane, WA, Meg Huddleston of Seattle, WA, Colleen (Patrick) Gillespie and Dan Huddleston of Olympia, WA, and Lisa (Bob) Bowling of Lacey, WA.

Lorraine is also survived by 16 grandchildren and their respective spouses, 6 great-grandchildren, Jack (Marion) Huddleston of Concord, CA, and Arlene Huddleston and Anna Jean Nagelhout of Grants Pass, OR.

Lorraine will forever be in our hearts and remembered for her loving nature, strength, resilience, spirited personality, devotion to family, friends and faith, and enjoyment of all things “Butte” and “Irish.”

At Lorraine’s request, in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: the Mother of Perpetual Help Novena, Order of Redemptorists, Annapolis, MD; or the Sisters of Saint Mary’s of Oregon retirement fund, Beaverton, OR.

The family extends our heartfelt gratitude to home caregivers Jane and Katarina, the staff at Providence St. Peter Hospital, Olympia, and Providence Home Care and Hospice.
