Obituary: Perry, Ronald Dennis

PERRY, Ronald Dennis Family, friends and colleagues deeply mourn the sudden loss of Washington native, Ron Perry.

On February 26th Ron died suddenly of a heart attack and returned home to the Lord.

Ron grew up in Spokane where he attended Gonzaga Prep.

He attended Seattle University and the University of Washington, earning a Ph.

D. in History in 1975.

In Spokane, he met his wife Linda and they cherished 32 years of marriage before losing her to cancer 11 years ago.

Ron and Linda celebrated the gift of life through travel, cooking, cultivating friendships, honoring family, and their shared love of dogs.

Ron leaves a significant legacy of public service over more than three decades.

He served as a budget auditor for 25 years with the Washington State Legislature and most recently as Deputy County Auditor for King County.

Ron and Linda loved their Labrador Retrievers and were active in the Puget Sound Labrador Retriever Association, Rainier Hunting Retriever Club, and Washington State Obedience Training Club.

Ron will be greatly missed by his brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Sally Perry; his sister-in-law Judy Curran (John); his sister-in-law Debbie Poppy (Bill); his cousins Father Rich Perry, S. J. and Bob and Anne Perry; numerous other cousins; and his nieces and nephews: Geoffrey and Lindsay Perry; Gina Perry and Todd Heesch (husband) and their sons Oliver and Wilson; Joel and Pamalee Perry and their son Jackson.

Jennifer and Ron Kelly; Jodie and Jeff Wise and their children Jack, Julia and John Thomas (JT); Kim and Aaron Guilden and Riley, Marc and Chris Poppy.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Linda, and his parents Carolyne and Ross Perry and his niece Jill Curran.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday March 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 732 18th Ave. E. Seattle, 98112 with a reception afterwards.

Internment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
