Obituary: Werner, Alvin John

WERNER, Alvin John In Loving Memory Born in Linton, ND on April 1, 1937 and entered into rest on February 26, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.

Survived by his wife of 52 years, Beverly (Maybee) Werner; son, Kenneth (Andrea) Werner; daughters, Christine (Steve) Marshall, Debbie (Alan) Sheedy; grandchildren, Amanda Werner, Kelsea Werner, Brent Marshall, and Anastasia Sheedy; sisters, Margaret (John) Stobie, and Sister Mary Simeon Werner F.S.P.A.

; numerous nieces and nephews.

Al was preceded in death by his parents, Catherine and Benedict Werner; brothers, Milbert Werner and Simeon Myrin Werner.

He graduated from North Central High School in 1956.

Al retired as a Meat Department Manager from Safeway Stores in 2001, after 42 years.

He also served on the union board of U.F.C.W.

for a number of years.

Al and Bev did a lot of traveling in the West, Oregon coast, and Alaska, sight-seeing and salmon fishing.

Al especially enjoyed boating, camping, and fishing on Lake Roosevelt.

He had many other interests including gem cutting, chainsaw wood carving, and was able to snowmobile Crater Lake and Yellowstone National Park on three occasions.

Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00AM on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4420 N. Jefferson in Spokane.

In lieu of flowers, family asks that you make a donation to a worthy charity.
