Obituary: Kile, Blanche I.
Age 96
Longtime Pine City resident, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Good Samaritan in Spokane Valley from complications of the flu.
She was 96.
In accordance with her wishes, a public funeral service will not be conducted, and a family gathering will celebrate Blanche’s life.
Blanche was born December 26, 1916 north of Pine City to John and Nellie (Sooy) Siegel.
Blanche grew up on the family farm and graduated from Pine City High School in 1935.
On April 24, 1937, she married Ronald W. Kile.
They were married 65 years, when he passed away in 2002.
They spent their years farming in the Pine City area, until retiring to St. John in 1980.
In 2004 she moved to St. John’s Community Pride Senior Living.
From there she moved to Good Samaritan in Fairfield and then to Good Samaritan in Spokane Valley.
She was a member of St. John Methodist Church, a 50+ year member of Kenova Grange, Excella Club and best known as a 4-H leader teaching sewing to area girls.
She entered many sewing projects at the St. John Fair and received rave reviews for her sewing abilities.
She also enjoyed playing cards and watching sporting events, especially baseball.
She is survived by one sister, Ivah Nell Burton of Missoula, Montana; three children, Kathy (Bill) Kuch of Liberty Lake, Ron (Sharon) Kile of Pine City, and Randy (Bev) Kile of Pine City; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers, Verne, Hugh and Gale Siegel.
