Obituary: Baumel, Maria Christina
Age 65
Maria was born on March 31st, 1947 in Chiliomodi Greece.
In 1968 she decided to follow her older brother Stan and made the journey to the United States.
After deciding this was home, in the early 70’s she became a United States Citizen.
Maria was very active in the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and with the Daughters of Penelope.
Maria loved her family immensely and once you became friends with her, you were automatically considered family.
All who spent time with Maria knew she was kind, caring and the most compassionate person.
She never turned her back on a friend in need.
Maria is survived in death by son James (Cashmere, WA) and daughter Christina (Spokane, WA); three brothers Stan (Spokane, WA); Costa and George (Chiliomodi Greece); one sister Tasula (Chiliomodi Greece); step daughters Kathy, Arleen and Trudy.
Niece Dede Merritt and family Kevin, Tessa and Sayla; Grandchildren Tianna, Alex, Lucius, Caspian, Mary, Jimmy, Brianna, Tammy and Bobbi; and her first love Ken.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 27 years Frank and stepson Eddie.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 9th, 2013 at 11 am at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1703 N. Washington St., Spokane, WA with Father Stephen Supica officiating, interment will follow at Pines Cemetery.
