TV Notes: ‘Dallas’ bids farewell to J.R.

“DALLAS”: Larry Hagman may have died late last year, but his TV alter-ego, the dastardly J.R. Ewing, will be laid to rest this week. And, fittingly, it promises to be a grand farewell for one of prime time’s greatest anti-heroes. The warring Ewings, including Bobby (Patrick Duffy) and Sue Ellen (Linda Gray), set aside their differences long enough to mourn. They’re joined by several original “Dallas” alums, including Charlene Tilton, Ted Shackelford and Steve Kanaly. But, it’s J.R., of course, who has the last word as a shocking revelation about him surfaces. 9 p.m. Monday, TNT.

SUNDAY: “Army Wives” gets a major reboot as Season 7 opens. Kim Delaney is out and several new cast members are in, including Brooke Shields, R&B star Ashanti, Torrey DeVitto, and former teen heartthrob Jesse McCartney. 9 p.m., Lifetime.
MONDAY: Decision time is finally here for hunky Sean Lowe on “The Bachelor.” Does he propose to either Catherine or Lindsay? Or does he just continue to fall in love with his own alluring abs? 8 p.m., ABC.
MONDAY: “Kings Point” is a moving, Oscar-nominated short documentary about a group of men and women who moved to a sunny Florida retirement resort many years ago. Now they find themselves grappling with love, loss and the changing nature of their relationships. 9 p.m., HBO.
MONDAY: “Hindenburg: The Last Flight” is a two-part dramatization of the deadly 1937 disaster that ended an era of airship aviation. Stacy Keach heads the cast. 8 p.m., Encore.
TUESDAY: We figure that, sooner or later, viewers are going to get tired of watching Gordon Ramsay yell at people. Until then, there’s Season 11 of “Hell’s Kitchen.” Enjoy, and let us know how it turns out. 8 p.m., Fox.
TUESDAY: We’ve waited decades for someone to teach us how to create an Egyptian god mummy. Finally, the reality series “Face Off” does just that in an episode called “Mummy Mayhem.” We are so there. 9 p.m., Syfy.
WEDNESDAY: And you thought the marriage of Russian spies Phillip and Elizabeth (Matthew Rhys, Keri Russell) on “The Americans” was already strained. Wait until you see what happens when he comes back into contact with an old flame. 10 p.m., FX.
THURSDAY: She’s got spirit – how ‘bout you? “The Vampire Diaries” returns with new episodes, and Elena (Nina Dobrev) is doing her best to get back to a “normal” high school routine. That means it’s time to rejoin the cheerleading squad. 8 p.m., The CW.
THURSDAY: On “Grey’s Anatomy,” the hospital’s new management team is creating widespread havoc, leading one doctor to question whether he still belongs at Seattle Grace. 9 p.m., ABC.
FRIDAY: “The World According to Dick Cheney” is a compelling documentary from director R.J. Cutler that offers an intimate examination of the man who calls himself the “most consequential” vice president in American history. 9 p.m., Showtime.
SATURDAY: Season 2 of “Too Cute!” continues as Puck, a keeshond pup, befriends a flock of ducks on the farm. And you thought you had to go to YouTube for this mushy critter stuff. 8 p.m., Animal Planet.
