Obituary: Hoy, Vickie Leann (Stallman)

Age 57

HOY, Vickie Leann (Stallman) October 3, 1955 - February 19, 2013 On February 19th, four years to the day of her diagnosis, Vickie Leann (Stallman) Hoy passed away after a valiant battle with cancer.

She was 57 years old.

Born October 3, 1955, to Don and Marion Stallman, Vickie was a proud graduate of West Valley High School, Class of 1974.

She lived in Spokane her entire life, and never had an unkind word to say about anyone.

Vickie married her high school sweetheart, Michael Hoy, who survives her, on April 10, 1982.

The couple had two children.

Her son, Andrew, preceded her in death and she is survived by her daughter, Michelle.

Vickie worked for Albertsons, and was a member of the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 1439, for a total of 36 years, first at the store at Sprague and Pines and later at 57th and Regal.

She always remembered and cherished her customers and rarely went anywhere without running into someone she knew by name.

She lived an exceptionally healthy lifestyle and filled her days with knitted and crocheted craft projects that she shared with her loved ones.

Even in the final days of her struggle with cancer, she continued to reach out and comfort the ones she loved, many of whom she communicated with.

In addition to her son, Vickie was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel.

She is survived by her husband, daughter, both parents, sister Teresa and brother Don.

There are no plans for a formal memorial service, and Vickie asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to SpokAnimal Care.
