Obituary: Urness, Steven Anthony

URNESS, Steven Anthony (Age 64) Entered into rest on March 8, 2013 at home in Spokane, WA.

Steve had been a 35 year resident of Spokane.

Born in Minneapolis, MN, to Roy and Corrine Urness, Steve attended schools in western Washington, graduating from Kent-Meridian High School and Whatcom Community College.

A Sergeant in the U.S. Army, Steve served in Vietnam where he was awarded two Bronze Stars with Oak Leaf Clusters.

He worked for the WA State Department of Motor Vehicles as a Dealer/Sales Investigator retiring in 1999.

Steve loved to travel and play golf.

He was a member of Waverly Masonic Lodge #231, El Katif Shriners and South Spokane Shrine Club.

Steve was a man with a ‘warm heart’ and loved to laugh.

He will be remembered as a good man who gave of himself to help others.

He is survived by his children, sons: Erik Urness of Spokane and Carl Urness of Chicago, IL; his daughter, Alexa Urness of Renton, WA; a brother, Richard Urness of Fife, WA; one grandson, Evan; and a host of friends.

Memorial service with military honors will be held Friday, March 15th, 2013 at 11:15 AM at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, Medical Lake, WA.
