Master chef announces next classes
Master chef Steve Geving announced the lineup for his upcoming classes.
The chef offers a monthly cooking class at the Blanchard Community Center in Blanchard. The classes are 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. They are $25 per person and reservations are required. Call (208) 437-0426 for information or reservations.
Here’s the plan through June:
March 20: Baby it’s Cold Outside – Food to Warm the Soul: Menu includes Jewish chicken and dumpling soup, braised beef short ribs and vegetables, stuffed pork loin and caramel apple crepe tower with Chantilly cream.

April 17: The Chef’s Tour of India – Some Like it Hot: Menu includes Bombay dahl with crispy pappadam, fried potato garlic naan with cilantro chutney and raita, chicken tandoori with curry vegetables, and fruit samosas with sweet yogurt.
May 22: Pub Cuisine – Cooking With and Enjoying Beer: Menu includes barley and vegetable beer cheese soup, shepherd’s pie with Guinness stout, Irish lamb casserole with Killian’s Red, beer-battered fruit with honey lager dip.
June 19: Southern Cooking – Let Me Show You, Y’all: Menu includes smoked, pickled and brined pig with beet and zucchini, catfish with almond and pecan dust with spicy remoulade, honey-kissed buttermilk fried chicken Charleston style, and pulled beef with Rebel Yell Bourbon sweet sauce.
