Obituary: Olson, Gwendolyn Sue

Age 60

OLSON, Gwendolyn Sue Gwendolyn Sue Olson, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Mount Carmel Hospital in Colville, WA.

She was born on July 15, 1952, the daughter of Wesley and Lilla Halbert in Roswell, New Mexico.

The family soon moved to Minot, North Dakota where she was raised and graduated high school.

Gwen moved to Boise, Idaho in her early twenties where she reunited with Marc from Minot.

There they fell in love and wed in 1974.

They have journeyed through life as partners ever since.

Marc and Gwen set up life in Great Falls, Montana where they had Luke and Kerry.

They worked in the Montana beauty industry for many years.

In 1996, they moved to Kettle Falls where they ran Olson Orchard for five years.

They also started the fashion company Sunriver Specialties, which Marc still operates.

Gwen worked hard and made sure their home was filled with joy, laughter and wonderful memories.

To Gwen, family was always the most important thing.

She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Marc Olson of Kettle Falls, Washington, son and daughter-in-law Luke and Marti Olson of Spokane, her daughter and son-in-law Kerry and Jae Ok of Seattle, her sister Silvia Haugeberg of Minot and four lovely granddaughters, Maliya, Livi, Nora and Penelope.

Gwen loved to hike, hunt, fish, travel with Marc and spend time with family.

A celebration of Gwen’s life will be held in Kettle Falls on April 27; friends are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund (JDRF.org) in honor of her granddaughter Maliya.
