Obituary: Crandell, Moses H., Jr.

Age 89

CRANDELL, Moses H., Jr. Was born on February 15, 1924 in Fort Worth, Texas and died on March 10, 2013 at Colonial Court Assisted Living in Spokane, Washington.

He was 89 years old.

He served his country proudly during World War II in Normandy, France where he received The Purple Heart with one oak leaf cluster for injuries from a land mine.

He also received two Bronze Stars for his service.

His beloved wife, Alice Dionne Cyr Crandell, died in 1998.

Moses is survived by his sister, Jean Tillman, and her children, Nancy , Bobby and Darrell; his three daughters and their husbands and children, Phyllis and Dave Wellington, Gloria and Tom Bush, and Paula and Ray Quigley; his grandchildren, David Patch and his wife, Betty; Troy Wellington and his wife, Kathy; Eric Wellington and Lisa Englehardt, Kimberly and Michael Meredith, Aimee and Tyler Smith, and Erin and Matthew Theis, Sean Quigley, Joel Quigley, and Kelly Quigley and Michael Zinkgraf; his great-grandchildren, Jasmine and Justin and their mother, Tammy, Joshua, Matthew, Jessica, Amanda, Jared, Steven, Christopher, Danielle, and Amber, and his great-great-grandchildren, Carson Zinkgraf, James and Joshua.

Moses, part of the Greatest Generation, will be missed by his family and the people who knew him.

Visitation will take place from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, March 15th at Thornhill Valley Chapel.

Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, 17825 E. Trent, Spokane, WA at 10:00 on Saturday, March 16th followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 a. m. at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA.
