Rogers graduate Horn with Shock

Arena football: Rogers High graduate Levi Horn, who played at Oregon and Montana, was been assigned to the Spokane Shock.

Horn (6-7, 315) joins the Shock for his AFL debut.

After completing his collegiate career, Horn signed with NFL’s Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent following the 2010 NFL draft and also spent time with the Minnesota Vikings in 2012.

Failor Idaho player of year

Prep basketball: Post Falls basketball standout Dani Failor has been named the 2012-13 Gatorade Idaho Girls Basketball Player of the Year.

The 6-foot senior post led Post Falls to a 24-1 record and the State 5A championship. She averaged 12.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game while shooting 52 percent from the floor. A two-time first team All-Idaho selection, she recorded double-doubles in the final two state games.

Failor has a 3.86 grade-point average and has an appointment to attend and play at West Point.

“Dani Failor is not only dedicated to the sports she plays, she is also an excellent student who does as much as she can to help the community,” Lake City coach Bryan Kelly said. “Her dedication to sports and bettering society is something that doesn’t come around very often.”

EWU, Idaho women resume tourney play

Women’s basketball: Eastern Washington plays Northern Colorado at 10 a.m. today in the Big Sky tournament semifinals.

A victory for the Eagles (19-11) would give them their first 20-win season since 1984-85. It would also put them in the Big Sky title game for the first time since 1988 when they played in the Mountain West Confer- ence. EWU last won a conference title in 1987.

In the Western Athletic Conference tournament, Idaho plays Utah State in the semifinals today at noon in Las Vegas.
