Obituary: Miller, Anna M.

Age 80

MILLER, Anna M. (Age 80) Passed away March 14, 2013 in Spokane Valley, Washington.

She was born on September 7, 1932 in Lewistown, Montana to the late Frank and Mary (Mandy) Tafolla.

Anna graduated from Mullan High School in Mullan, Idaho in 1950.

She moved to Spokane, found work as a secretary, met her husband, Ralph (Mike), and they were married on October 3rd, 1952.

Over the years Anna was involved with Camp Fire Girls, Cub Scouts, the PTA and school volunteer activities.

After refresher courses at Spokane Falls Community College, Anna secured a position in the Registrar’s Office at Gonzaga University Law School.

She began taking classes at Gonzaga University and graduated with a BA in history on Mothers Day 1992 at 59 years of age.

Anna and Mike enjoyed traveling for a number of years after she retired from Gonzaga in 1994.

She was an active member of St. Patrick’s Parish and an avid bowler.

Anna and her sisters, Ramona and Rosemary, played together as a bowling team for a number of years.

Anna enjoyed gardening and was a zealous Zags basketball fan.

Anna is survived by her husband of 60 years, Ralph (Mike) Miller of Spokane, four children: Linda Miller Jennings and her husband Don, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Steve Miller and his wife Nancy, of Tukwila, Washington, Julie Miller Driscoll and her husband Jack of Spokane, and Dave Miller and his wife Karen, of Leesburg Virginia, five grandchildren: Christina Jennings of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Jessica Black and her husband Ben of Portland, Oregon, Bryce Driscoll of Portland, Oregon, Avery Miller of Leesburg, Virginia and Reese Miller of Leesburg, Virginia, and one great-grandchild: Delilah Black of Portland, Oregon.

Anna also leaves behind two siblings: Leo Tafolla of Las Vegas, Nevada and Rosemary Tafolla Pierce of Post Falls, Idaho as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Joe and Michael Tafolla, and a sister, Ramona Tafolla Boger.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 5021 N. Nelson St., Spokane on March 18, 2013 at 1:00 pm.

Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Spokane.
