GU’s Kim nets bonus

Sophomore Alice Kim, a member of the Gonzaga Bulldogs women’s golf team, received an added benefit for winning the UC Irvine Invitational in late February.

Kim earned a sponsorship exemption to play in the LPGA’s Kia Classic, which begins today at Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad, Calif. The Irvine Invite is the only collegiate event where the medalist qualifies for an LPGA tourney.

Former Spokane Shock player William Mulder has been hired as defensive backs coach.

Mulder, who played on the 2010 championship team, replaces Stan Franks.
