Okanogan County officer shoots, injures homicide suspect
One man is dead and his alleged killer, his son, was shot and wounded by officers in Okanogan County Friday night.

According to a release from the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office, an officer shot and injured a suspect after the man shot his own father in a house at 56 East Dry Coulee Road.
Officers arrived on scene around 8:20 p.m. after a report of a possible assault. When officers arrived, the release said, two women ran out of the house and said there were shots fired in the residence and a father and son were still inside.
“Information at the scene was that the father had been shot by the son,” the release said.
Deputies and the county’s Special Response Team tried to communicate with people in the house.
When officers entered the house, the release said, the suspect fired a weapon, and an officer returned fire and wounded the suspect.
The injured man was taken to Mid-Valley Hospital, the release said. His condition is unknown.
“The father had been fatally wounded by his son and was pronounced dead at the scene,” the release said.
The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office is taking over the investigation. The names and ages of those involved, including the officer involved in the shooting, have not been released.
