Driver killed along mountain road near Kellogg

The driver of a Honda Civic died early today northwest of Kellogg after the car went off a forest road and down an embankment, struck a rock and large tree, and caught fire, the Idaho State Police said. Police have not released the name, age or gender of the driver. In a news release, the ISP said it is awaiting positive confirmation of driver’s identity. The accident was reported today at 3:18 a.m. The 2002 Civic was eastbound on U.S. Forest Service Road 209 near Bumblebee Road, in Shoshone County, when the driver drove off the right shoulder while negotiating a corner, the ISP release said.
