She was the beloved daughter of Harold Pulaski Hawkins and Florence Helen (Bradish) Hawkins and wife of the late Bernard J. Carney.
Her son Michael B. Carney preceded her in death.

She is also survived by her brother, Myron Kerr of Spokane, WA, her sister, Betty (Hawkins) Bennett of Salina, KS, sisters-in-law Louise (Swann) Carney, Juanita (Carney) Winger and Ruth (Carney) Bronkhurst.
Helen was the beloved grandmother to numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and the beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.
She attended St. Patrick’s Grade School and Holy Names Academy.
She was an active member of St. Xavier’s and St. Joseph’s parishes but most recently returned to St. Patrick’s, the parish in which she was baptized, received her first communion, confirmation, was married and renewed her marriage vows on her 50th.
Helen will be sorely missed by all of those that loved her; to know her was to love her.
Helen’s memorial mass will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick’s church.
Reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Hospice of Spokane.
