Obituary: Thompson, Gwen
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Don Thompson, daughter, Kathy Headstrom, son David Thompson, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Her eldest son, Doug Thompson, passed away in 1994.
Gwen was born on June 17, 1930 to Irene and William Miller in Tekoa, Washington.
Her family, including five brothers, moved to Spokane.
She graduated from North Central High School in 1948.
Gwen worked as a sales representative with several companies, retiring from CM Paula Company.
Gwen sang with the Spokane Chapter of Sweet Adelines chorus and Emmanuel Presbyterian Church choir for many years.
An avid golfer, she was a member of the Downriver Women’s Golf Club.
During her retirement years Gwen also enjoyed gardening, craft and card making.
Gwen’s family would like to thank the staff of the North Central Care Center for their loving and devoted care of Gwen in her last year of life.
A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held at a later date.
